Obama's Laws
There are many things in the world today that make old people shake their heads in wonder of how screwed up things are now. I know,
I can see them! Shaking their heads in disbelief. I have always thought I was born a generation too late. I identified with people older than me, and had respect and deference for my elders. I like the classics: Mozart, Chopin, and the greats, George Gershwin, Nelson Riddle and Miles Davis.
But the world today doesn't seem to pay much heed to these masters from the past, as if they had nothing to offer, nothing to give. Instead we play with our devices, and our vices which actually take something away from us...
It has been said by wiser men than me, by far, that when a population realizes it can vote itself benefits paid by public taxes, it won't be long for the grave. When Obama took office he inherited a tired country, a country of people who were already pushed to the breaking point. The luxuries they thought would go on forever evaporated and real worry, and real sweat was the result. Not only did Obama touch the center of what most common Americans thought at that time, but he promised a swift rise from that low point in 2006 and 7.
But America experienced a real storm shortly afterward, when they elected the Junior Senator with no experience (in running a business, much less a nation and had never appointed people around him, and thus had no experience in recognizing talent), and he enacted several programs which did not bring about robust economic recovery. Far from it. Worse than that, and worse than the treatment the military has gotten out of the deal, are the lies he has given us. When he speaks and says those words people want to hear, words like transform, lift-up, audacity of hope, they have an emptiness now.
A recent article from one of my favorite columnists,Dr. Charles Krauthammer (I only have a few I read hungrily such as Charles, Larry Elder and Dennis Prager) lists impeachable crimes Obama is guilty of.
Krauthammer's article in Washington Post Opinion
today is a checklist of blunders and careless governance President
Obama has handed to us to prosecute him with.
Violations of the U.S. Constitution and
disgraceful action by the Senate leader, as the good Doctor
says,”...is something for which he'll finally be remembered”.
(from WashingtonPostOpinion online)
This past week in the Senate, Democrat
leadership abolished a rule in which circuit judge nominees may be
filibustered by the minority party. This was virtually unheard of
until recently when during George W. Bush's term, the Democrats in
the Republican held Congress shrieked in dismay at the plans by
Republicans to abolish the filibuster rule to foil attempts to block
conservative nominees. Now, the very arguments they made are being
used against them. It was wrong then, it's wrong now. Although this
filibuster-breaker does not affect Supreme Court nominees or Cabinet
nominees, the Circuit Judge's seat is for life. Liberal-held seats
are the destination for activists who are rampaging their way through
the constitution concerning laws dealing with marriage, hate crimes
and social issues.
These political norms are more than two
centuries old and designed to allow changes only by super-majority or
2/3 vote. Now, the rule was changed by only a majority vote- 52-48.
“If we could make constitutional changes by majority vote, there would be no Constitution”-Charles Krauthammer
President Obama, when The Dream Act was
rebuffed by the House, declared he was suspending large sections of
the immigration laws, laws that were in effect and called for the
deportation of children of illegal aliens.
Obama was found to have exceeded his
authority when he appointed several judges to the National Labor
Relations Board while the Senate was out of session, but “ in-session” because of technical requirements brought on by the
Republican Senators holding “pro-forma” sessions. The sticking
point here being when nominees are not given a chance to receive a
vote. Because of this, the President appointed them anyway and
decided to argue with the court later. The issue is destined for the
American Supreme Court in D.C.
Now, in response to an outcry of people
who are forced to use an ObamaCare insurance plan which is far more
expensive than the plan they were promised “they could keep...”,
By edict alone President Obama deferred employers from having to
comply with the new law, HIS law, which is obviously AGAINST the law.
He is even urging the insurance companies themselves to skirt the
law.
This is a violation of Article II which
requires a President “faithfully execute the duly enacted laws”
OBAMA'S LIES
(all quotes paraphrased)
1. "I will have the most transparent administration"
The most transparent
administration in history? Far from it. It has been deceitful,
behind closed doors, backroom dealing, scheming, and divisive. In
direct opposition to what he promised during the campaign, he hasn't
opened up the doors of the government, stopped NSA snooping of US citizens
or closed Guantanamo Bay, for which his predecessor was hung in
effigy.
2. "The stimulus will create shovel-ready jobs"
The stimulus did not create jobs
at all. Our unemployment rate hit its highest level in decades and is very slow in going back down. Conversely, the economic stimulus killed jobs because of the tentative nature of
the economy it was supposed to repair. Don't blame the Tea Party
for the Government shutdown, or the downgrading of the nation's
credit rating: it was due to the effects of the stimulus and the
continued Quantitative Easing deployed by the Fed.
3. "The IRS has not targeted anyone"
It was shown that the IRS was in
fact targeting conservative groups who applied for 501 tax- exempt
status for their businesses. These companies were denied tax-free status
and required to pay their taxes as if they were “for profit”
until their status as 'charitable' could be verified. Then the tax agents began a thorough investigation of the business. This process
impeded these organizations, who's real agenda conflicted with the
Obama administration, and through these channels, the government
was able to put undue stress and complications on these operations
causing them time and money. There should be lawsuits related to these investigations for the recovery of that money and resources, and settlements to pay for pain and suffering.
4. "If four Americans were killed then it was not optimal"
On September 11, 2011 a consular outpost in Benghazi, Libya was attacked by a mob and burned. The murderous mob killed four Americans, including the Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens. In the ensuing hours the attack continued well into the night with the surviving Americans retreating to separated buildings and fighting off wave after wave of attacks. No help arrived for them though, and being called into question is the actions of the Washington DC leadership of this operation. The CIA, the State Department, which Hillary Clinton handled personally, President Obama's White House team, including Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and the War room planners at the Pentagon all have blood on their hands, and the timing of it couldn't have been worse: mere weeks before the election Obama would go on to win.
Four Americans were killed
and the Secretary of State, the President and all the supporting
characters blamed it on an anti-muslim video causing a riot that
turned into a spontaneous assault on the US consular outpost there in
Benghazi. A large load of manure. First of all, the video being
referred to was a childish attempt at a defamatory look at the
Islamic prophet Mohammed. The video was so poorly done it was
laughable. Second, the action on the ground that night was known to
be organized by al Qaeda operatives in Libya, and when Ambassador to
the UN Susan Rice made her speech that is was not al Qaeda she,
Clinton and Obama knew better and “lied” for political reasons:
the election was only weeks away and their poor response, and even more
unsettling, a questionable or even illegal reason for Ambassador
Stevens to be there without a large security force in the first
place
The list of lies goes on and on. Maybe I'll go on and on soon...
