Home Notes
Our cat came in lame today. He's a very playful 2 year old who lives with four dogs. Casey has quite the personality. He tends to knaw lightly on my hands for a time while I pet him, and keeps my hand close with his claws.
Right now, he's pulled up under the table, sitting and every hair seems out of place: you can see he's not right. He didn't eat his dinner, but did drink some water. He came in today like this. I hope he'll be ok, he has stayed the longest out of our recent cats. Crystal says he ate a little ice cream. Maybe we'll grind up an asparin and put it in some.
I played an excellent gig last night in Galveston, Texas, an hour and a half from my house in Katy. It was the Lone Star Rally weekend in Galveston and an estimated 400,000 bikers rode through town. Aside from a nasty wreck on the freeway making me an hour late, I had a great time. There was a festive mood in the air, and in general, the riders were well behaved and generous!
Last night was with the Acoustic Villains, Dave and Mike. They are gigging now as an electric band, but previously, they entertained and gained a following as an acoustic duo, and I must say two very gifted singers. Also onstage on bass guitar was my buddy Pat McLain my Strange Brew bandmate. Songs like Behind Blue Eyes and Closer to Home are highlights and exhiliarating to play.
